Ideal Vacuum Products recommends you replace both (upper and lower) bearings for better results. Each kit is for either, upper or lower bearings. Bearing replacement depends on the last 2 digits of the serial number on the pump I.D. plate; those numbers represent which part number of the bearing kit to use.
