Precautions before operation

Overview

Standard glove box systems are not commonly used for handling toxic or radioactive materials. If required, specialized components and methods should be selected to connect the system and safety precautions must be observed.

Note: Incorrect operation of the system may pose a threat. The connection of the system should be done by a professional.

Preparing and checking before use

  • Prepare sufficient high purity working gas

The purpose of working gas is to clean the box, balance the pressure and working gas; gas type is nitrogen, argon or helium; gas purity is required to be greater than or equal to 99.999%; range of decompression table: pressure range of the main table is greater than 15MPa, pressure range of the sub-table is less than or equal to 1MPa; the pressure is required to be from 40.4 to 0.6MPa; the connecting pipe is made of PU material.

  • Prepare sufficient regeneration gas
  • Two pieces of depressurization gauges

Attention:

Set the pressure correctly as required, too high a pressure will destroy the system, too low a pressure will not allow the system to operate.

Dangers:

Due to the use of inert gases in the equipment, there is a danger of asphyxiation, the exhaust gases used for cleaning and regeneration must be discharged outdoors! If toxic or radioactive materials are used, the exhaust gas must not be discharged indoors, but must be treated and discharged, please observe this strictly, the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for this.

Precautions before operation

The glove box is a sophisticated piece of laboratory equipment. Be sure to read and understand these instructions completely before performing experiments.

All dangers, warnings, and cautions in this manual can cause various degrees of personal injury, so please refer to it in detail.

1. Operating instructions

This operation instruction, only applies to the operation of this system, the following installation check matters:

a) The working gas connection is normal, and adjust the decompression table 0.4-0.6Mpa;

b)Re-gas pipeline connection is normal;

c) The vacuum pump is installed;

d)Cleaning exhaust exhaust and vacuum pump exhaust have been connected;

e)Voltage is correct and has been connected;

f) Gloves have been installed and seals have been correctly fixed;

g) Clamps and screws are tightened

2. Operating Precautions:

● Untrained personnel must not use the glove box alone;

● Prohibit the use of items that can poison the regeneration catalyst such as mercaptans;

● Do not use volatile solvents, such as acetone, that can damage the Plexiglas without prior authorization;

● Contact the person in charge to remove the water probe before using volatile solvents;

● Turn on the activated carbon circulation system when using volatile solvents;

● When using the glove box, do not have long nails and do not wear sharp objects (e.g., watches, rings, etc.).
